Guy Buffet
Sono nato a Parigi nel quartiere di Montparnasse il 13 gennaio 1943. Mio padre, Jules Cesar Buffet, aveva 65 anni all'epoca ed era ancora il direttore delle poste di quel distretto, ben oltre il suo pensionamento dovuto alle circostanze del dopoguerra. Mio padre conosceva e amava Montparnasse. Durante la mia prima giovinezza, mio padre amava portare "suo figlio" a passeggiare nel quartiere e mostrarmi i luoghi più famosi come "La Coupole", uno dei miei ristoranti preferiti ancora oggi, dove artisti famosi come Modigliani, Picasso, Chagall, Braque e Foujita trascorrevano la maggior parte delle loro giornate e serate. In qualità di direttore delle Poste, sapeva anche dove vivevano quegli artisti e mi mostrava le loro case e i loro studi e mi raccontava infinite storie sulle loro opere e sulle loro vite.
