Set of 2 wall sconces designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso in the 1960s, chromed brass structure, colored yellow glass.
Excellent conditions, perfectly working.
Born in Venice in 1900, Poli was the first to tackle, at Murano, the theme of the female nude: in the glass, ceramic or sim composite cup. , used to serve on the table the fruit compotes.
His projects were made in glass by professional glassmakers, including Francesco Martinuzzi and Italo Nason, who created the series of sculptures Pudore, in pure twentieth-century style.
In 1934, Flavio Poli took over the artistic direction of Seguso Vetri D'Arte and in 1937 he became a member. During this period he designed massive and thick vases, sculptures and lamps.
In the post-war period, Flavio Poli began producing submerged vases with dazzling and contrasting colours. In 1954 he was awarded the Compasso d'Oro.
