About Hutch Design

Behind the sash windows of a limewashed mews in Marylebone, HUTCH is an international design studio with grassroots design principles. Creating homes that are polished, personal, and utterly whole is our hallmark.

But what, or rather who, makes a ‘whole’ home? Behind our stable doors is a studio humming with hands-on artistry and specialised design technology. From model-making to CAD drafting, and topographic studies to round-table design reviews, it all happens under our roof.

Working with a trusted guild of artists, surveyors, historians, makers, engineers, landscapers, and master builders, we spend as much time on lighting diagrams as armchair selection, know how to consider acoustics alongside colour psychology, and walk with you through everything from 3D dioramas to wine decanters. We're the stewards of your defining space—a responsibility that we carry with great care. Until you take on custodianship, we treat it as our own.

Connecting the dots between conventionally separate industries, Craig Hutchinson is the Founding Director of HUTCH and an ARB Chartered Member. Whilst practising at studios in Tokyo, Brisbane, Colorado, and London, he became clear on his manifesto: in creating holistic spaces, all disciplines must be united.

Offering a level of integration that few firms can match—from the first getting-to-know-you conversation to directing the editorial photoshoot—Craig’s instinct is creating homes that begin, and end, with you.

Be it a biophilic townhouse in Belfast or a den in the mountains of Iceland, Craig’s projects are one-of-a-kind by default. His work is distinguished by fluidity, unwavering standards, and a dedication to creating radically peaceful spaces for an exclusive collective of homeowners.

With global press coverage in the likes of The New York Times, Architectural Digest, and VOGUE, Craig's signature is homes with new nostalgia. Ones that feel, somehow, as if they’ve always been a part of you. And, since they tell your story in three-dimensional form, perhaps they always have.
