Luciano Frigerio, born in Desio in 1928, revolutionized the world of furniture design and production, inheriting his family's tradition of fine cabinetmaking. After earning a diploma in accounting, he developed a passion for furniture design and musical composition. In the 1960s, he capitalized on the entrepreneurial opportunities in the Brianza region and transformed his family’s business into an international enterprise, collaborating with key figures such as Gio Ponti and Franco Albini. Frigerio realized his dream of creating furniture as unique works of art, introducing his celebrated “Sculpture Furniture in Solid Wood” and “Sculpture Beds in Bronze Casting,” which combined artisanal excellence with precious materials. His company produced numbered, signed pieces, often in collaboration with esteemed architects and designers. During the 1970s and 1990s, the company expanded its reach by opening ten showrooms across Italy. Honored with numerous awards and titles, Frigerio’s works are exhibited in major art galleries and have received prestigious design accolades. Permanent exhibitions in Milan stand as a testament to his lasting influence on contemporary design, celebrating a legacy defined by functionality, aesthetics, and exceptional craftsmanship.
