Informazioni sull’articolo

Extraordinary five-seat modular sofa designed by Alessandro Mazzoni Delle Stelle and Gianfranco Gualtierotti for Giovannetti in 1976. Born from a collaboration between a group of young designers, the Minni sofa was part of a small-scale project that introduced an innovative, highly modular system using steel profiles as the structural base. This technical choice ensured maximum configurability, allowing the sofa to be fully disassembled and reassembled as desired—adapting effortlessly to changing spatial and relational needs. Upholstered in black vegan leather, the sofa is in excellent condition considering its nearly 50-year age. A rare piece produced by Giovannetti—one of the most influential Italian design companies, known for iconic works such as the Anfibio and Bazaar sofas, both held in the permanent collections of world-renowned museums. Currently a unique piece on the market and officially confirmed by the manufacturer as an original production. Featured in Domus magazine, issue 634, December 1982, pages 13 and 14. Published in Domus No. 634, December 1982, pages 13–14 Giovannetti is an Italian furniture company founded in 1966, known for its strong spirit of innovation and influential contribution to contemporary design. The company has become known for producing bold, often experimental pieces that combine creativity and functionality in ways that have captured international attention. One of Giovannetti’s defining characteristics is its commitment to working with both emerging and established designers—including Alessandro Becchi, Gianfranco Gualtierotti, and Alessandro Mazzoni Delle Stelle. These collaborations helped shape a line of modular, flexible furnishings that embody the playful and free-spirited ethos of 1960s and ’70s Italian design. Among the company’s most celebrated works is the Anfibio sofa by Alessandro Becchi, designed in 1971. This iconic piece, which converts from a sofa into a bed, is held in the collections of the MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It represents the brand’s philosophy: creating multifunctional furniture that challenges conventional typologies. Alongside the Anfibio, Giovannetti also produced other landmark pieces such as the Bazaar sofa, further solidifying its reputation as a leader in experimental and forward-thinking design. Known for bold lines, innovative materials, and a modular approach, the brand’s creations reflect the changing needs of modern living. Over the years, Giovannetti has preserved its artisanal roots while embracing technological innovation. Its commitment to handcraftsmanship and high-quality materials continues to result in products that are both practical and visually striking. Today, Giovannetti remains a benchmark in Italian design—producing pieces that transcend mere function and elevate furniture to the realm of art, echoing the evolution of taste and style in contemporary interiors.

Rare Italian Mid Century Bed Frame by Luigi Saccardo for Gasparello, 1970s
Di Gasparello Arredamento Contemporaneo, Luigi Saccardo
Elegant bed, model "Seven", in burled maple veneer, designed by Luigi Saccardo for Gasparello in the late 1970s. This piece is a refined example of Italian vintage design, combining clean lines, luxurious finishes, and a distinct architectural presence. The structure is crafted in brown-stained burled maple veneer, finished with a high-gloss lacquer that enhances the natural wood grain, lending a sophisticated and elegant look. The headboard features an extended lateral profile with integrated floating nightstands, each with black hidden drawers and functional surfaces, creating a balanced and cohesive design. Soft rounded corners and edges soften the otherwise geometric form, while the bed frame is bold yet well-proportioned, outlining the mattress area with elegance and strength. This piece accommodates a standard European mattress (160 × 190 cm). Perfect for interiors with a retro, modernist, or contemporary aesthetic, thanks to its timeless design language and premium craftsmanship. Extremely rare and currently one-of-a-kind on the market. Please note: This item is in a very good vintage condition. Minor signs of age may be present but do not affect its functionality. Rare Coupé Bed Frame by Mario Bellini for Cassina, Italy, 1976
Di Cassina, Mario Bellini
Rare and elegant “Coupé” daybed or bed frame designed by Mario Bellini and produced by Cassina in 1976. This piece features a minimal yet sophisticated structure, defined by soft lines and harmonious proportions. The design conveys a sense of lightness and elegance, with gently curved shapes outlining the headboard and side panels. The structure is upholstered in a light-colored fabric — likely linen or raw cotton — tightly fitted around the frame, highlighting the clean aesthetic. Leather-trimmed seams and exposed zippers serve as both functional and decorative elements, allowing the piece to be disassembled with ease and showcasing its refined craftsmanship. The wavy silhouette of the headboard and sides creates a welcoming, cocoon-like effect, almost embracing the sleeper within. The piece rests on discreet black feet, elevating it just enough to enhance its floating, airy presence. The mattress support consists of a tight mesh metal base, ensuring breathability and ergonomic comfort. It is designed to fit a standard European single mattress (80 × 190 cm). The Coupé bed’s clean and timeless design makes it suitable for both classic and contemporary interiors, whether in a bedroom or a sophisticated living area. The name “Coupé” references horse-drawn carriages — reflecting Bellini’s desire to link elite design with historical memory and everyday life. The piece will be shipped disassembled to reduce transport costs. Please note: This item is in a very good vintage condition. Minor signs of age may be present but do not affect its functionality. We kindly ask you to consider these characteristics prior to purchase.
