Nomita Joshi Interior Design Studio + Gallery

Retail di NOMITA JOSHI INTERIOR DESIGN a New Orleans, LA

Nomita Joshi Interior Design Studio + Gallery is a by appointment gallery featuring Indian Modernist furniture line, Phantom Hands , international style furniture and furnishings- Pani Jurek and Jonathan Adler and local New Orleans artists, Courtney Simon de Montfort, Audiowood, Paul Troyano and Nathou. The gallery serves as Nomita's personal "modern maharani" style a blend of history and modernity. Gallery offerings can be purchased directly from the studio.

Housed in a 1850's two story town house building, Nomita renovated the building down to the studs yet saving the historic brick walls and plaster. The first floor occupies the design studio in the rear and gallery in the front and the second floor houses a concept apartment which few clients get a peek.

The main gallery has a large mural by Christian LaCroix bringing you in an instant sense to a place far in your imagination. The other walls house mix media works by Courtney Simon de Montfort. She uses wood, thread and other innovative materials to create her art which can also be customized. Audiowood is another local artist who creates record players out of salvaged material and speakers from concrete and found objects. Nathou is a ceramicist whose bowls and vases are reminiscent of a futuristic life form. Paul Troyano is an acclaimed local woodworker who fashions furniture from fallen wood.

The Gallery and Studio are located on Historic Magazine street in New Orleans, LA. Open M-F by appointment.
