Ski Chalet

The Studio has executed a flawless complete interior design for a new-build family ski chalet. The Chalet is a new build private residential project carved into the French Alps' famed ski slopes. The building looks to respect the local archetype, due to planning constraints, while introducing some new architectural details such as the bespoke timber cladding, giving a clean take on the traditional chalet. Behind the strong façade lays an oasis from the harsh conditions, a warm interior of layered textures and tonal timber provides a softened atmosphere in which to enjoy the breath-taking views. The Studio worked closely with the Architect to redesign the façades and internal layouts, to create areas that are both family-friendly and work with the challenges of a house spread over five floors. Bryan O’Sullivan studio designed the majority of the furniture pieces and lighting within the house, while incorporating found pieces, antiques art and sculpture.
