Moorcroft Arts & Crafts Miniature Red Mottled Glaze Pottery Bowl

About the Item

A very fine English Arts & Crafts art pottery miniature bowl decorated with mottled red lustre style glazes by renowned makers Moorcroft and dating from around 1905. The bowl is part of a private collection of Arts and Crafts influenced pottery amassed in the mid 1980’s. The collection originates from a period where monochrome glazes were used to focus more on the shape and design of the pieces. The collection comprises of various notable and important British makers of the period. This rare and very small sized bowl is thinly potted standing raised on a narrow round pedestal foot with a wide round bowl-shaped top with a raised rim and us decorated in wonderful rich mottled red lustre style glazes. The bowl is impressed MOORCROFT to the base. Provenance: The David Sheard Collection and acquired around the mid 1980’s. Subsequently acquired in the UK Art Market. In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
