What are the parts of a horse collar?
Many parts make up a horse collar. The two pieces of wood or iron that form the collar are the hame, and the hardware used to connect the collar to the trace of the wagon or carriage is called the hame tug. The padded area of the collar in front of and behind the hame are the forewale and afterwale, respectively. Find a variety of antique horse collars on 1stDibs.
