What is the difference between a curtain rod and a drapery rod?

1 Answer
What is the difference between a curtain rod and a drapery rod?
A curtain rod and a drapery rod are both made to suspend fabric that would be used for a window treatment. The only difference between the two structures is that curtain rods are thinner since they are designed to support less weight — as curtains are made of lighter fabrics — while drapery rods are more durable and rugged since they are intended to support the weight of drapes, which are comparatively heavier and lengthier. Wood and metal are the most popular materials for these rods. Find an assortment of curtain and drapery rods on 1stDibs.
