Highly detailed pointillist watercolor and ink drawing featuring dynamic form and color in motion by Ben Black (American, 1922-2003). Unframed. Signed "Ben Black" lower right. Image, 8.5"H x 7.88"L.
Ben Black graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1947. He was an art director at one of Boston's leading advertising firms. He later opened his own studio where his works were included in The New Yorker, Saturday Evening Post, and Reader's Digest, establishing himself as a leading American Illustrator.

Thomas Guise studied art at Edinburgh College of Art under Thomson Adam Bruce, RSA (1947-1949) before serving with the Royal Artillery between 1939 and 1946.
