16" x 20" Ink with Silverpoint, Paint, and Metal Foil on Paper Panel
This highly geometric abstract expressionist work by artist Regina Valluzzi boasts a dynamic and energetic composition comprised of neatly drawn circles contrasted by perfectly straight lines. The drawing is detailed, but muted and its graphic nature is reminiscent of the technological world that we are living in.

Artist Commentary:
Ink with silverpoint and metal foil "gilt" details. Tinted silverpoint ground was used to paint geometric areas in subtly contrasting muted tones. Very fine silverpoint line details complement the ink drawing. When the silverpoint stylus moves over unprimed areas no line is created, but lines suddenly appear on top of the tinted ground. This creates very fine, broken linear details that reference each other geometrically across the different areas that accept silverpoint. The overall geometry alludes to information packet, information being broadcast and spread, and the subtleties of information and communication in the Information Age.
