About the Item

Explore the enchanting narrative of "Story of Red" by Andrada Trapnell, a 2023 mixed media creation that invokes the timeless tale of Red Riding Hood. This original artwork, measuring 30 x 40 inches, is masterfully rendered on board and comes unframed yet ready to hang. The scene captures a woman draped in a red hood, seated amidst a whimsically textured landscape under a radiant moon, evoking the solitude and mystery reminiscent of the classic story. Perfect for those who cherish fairy tale inspirations in contemporary art, this piece beautifully marries the old with the new in its textured execution and thematic depth. Artist Statement: Story of Red By Andrada Trapnell We’ve heard the story, it has been told About the red, the hood and the wolf’s world Where hunger lies above it all and tricks can play the biggest role. I know the tale I have been told, but on Red’s actions I’m not sold. So in the timeline I portrayed, she laid under a tree's shade, Fell asleep and later on, she decided to move on. In a hurry she’d forgotten, the gift basket full of apples. And you see the wolf has found it, ate the apples and decided That from now on the best bait is to sit around and wait.
