1886

About the Item

A charming Victorian watercolor interior scene showing a young girl sitting in a wooden chair with a green blanket on her lap while a baby sleeps in a bed at her side. The sun shines through an open window and a kitten plays with a ball of string on the floor. The artist has signed and dated to the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in a handsome Aesthetic Movement frame with beautiful botanical molding, picked out in gilt. The frame is finished with a wash-line mount. On wove.
