About the Item
A beautiful Art Nouveau illustration from the turn of the 20th Century, in watercolour and ink, showing a red haired maiden, surrounded by irises and daisies, in a leafy landscape. Her auburn hair flows around her and the black line work is indicative of the illustrative style of this era. The artist has signed to the lower edge (obscured by the mount) and inscribed the title below. There is an inscription on the reverse of the paper in French, dating this painting c.1904. The painting has been presented in a textured white painted frame with card mount. There is a French framer's label at the reverse.
