Yifat Gat
Blue Vase, Ink on Watercolor Paper, Original Work on Paper, Signed

2023

About the Item

Inspired by Greek vases, Blue Vase, 2023 is an original (unique) work on 25" x 20" 260g watercolor paper signed by Israeli born woman artist Yifat Gat. Title, date, and signature on recto (front of work) - on bottom right margin. In the artist's words: "I am obsessed with finding the perfect blue and what I refer to as the classic French school blue, an ink color that generations of kids used when learning cursive writing. This blue and the blue of the water in Marseille (where I live) became an obsession. As a lover of pottery, I enjoy the ceramic form and replicating it serendipitously with water and ink with happenstance deciding on how the final work would turn out." *** Artist's bio: YIFAT GAT (B. Israel 1969) studied theatre design and fine art. She works with ink and acrylic on paper, canvas, and creates site-specific installations. Her work is mainly line based and is shown in NY, London, Paris, Tel Aviv, and Marseille. Yifat lives and works in the south of France. *** Available at 99Prints NYC an online art marketplace for today’s collector of contemporary art, works on paper, original and limited edition photography. Based in New York City, 99Prints ships worldwide.
