About the Item

Texan artist Ash Almonte's vibrant original paintings are inspired by abstract expressionism combined with an optimistic contemporary outlook. Almonte is inspired by beautiful color, incredible music, and outrageous fashion. She likes to take risks while transforming her artworks into stories. Her paintings are friendly and candid, bringing life and exuberance into the homes of her collectors. This colorful and original 24 inch high by 18 inch wide mixed-media painting is created on archival paper. The artist combines thick colorful brushstrokes of bright and bold colors along with ink to create texture, depth, and interest. This artwork is not framed. It is signed by the artist on the front and back of the artwork. Affordable U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by Artplex Gallery is included. Ash Almonte is a contemporary abstract painter, born in Abilene, Texas in 1983. Fast gaining nationwide attention for her unique and fresh style, Ash Almonte uses references to abstract expressionism and combines it with a layered figurative aesthetic. In her eyes, it is more about the execution than the final product; she enjoys the process of making art more than the product itself. Fueled by a desire to create, Ash began experimenting, using anything she could find to turn into a spontaneous work of art. After high school, Ash went on to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts from McMurry University in Abilene, where she began to perfect her unique style, working mainly with mixed media, including enamel, oil, acrylic, and graphite. Almonte is moved by the process of change, individuals who are doing kind things for others, and hearing about miraculous stories of the past and present. She expresses her compassion in playful compositions of acrylic paint and mixed media on paper, balancing organic shapes, while often masterfully incorporating delicate ink drawings. In essence, Ash is moved by life and inspired by every minute of it. Her works are represented by Artplex Gallery Los Angeles and displayed in many private and corporate collections throughout the US. • 'Love Garden Party (Picnic #3), ' by Skip Hill, Mixed Media and Ink on Paper 2019
    Located in Oklahoma City, OK
'Love Garden Party (Picnic #3)' is an original mixed-medium work of art composed of high quality acrylic paint, opaque, metallic and neon inks, and hand-cut collage, on 35.875"h x 23.875"w on cold press paper stock. The painting is framed (41.5"h x 29.5”w.) with conservation quality, high UV-filtering museum glazing. Signed by the artist. Part of Skip Hill's 'Love Garden Party' series, this work depicts two women gathered around a festive table filled with food and drink. Skip Hill was born in 1961 in Padre Island, Texas but grew up primarily in Oklahoma City. After attending Oklahoma City University to study Advertising and Marketing, he worked as a graphic designer before relocating in 1987 to Southern California. A two-week trip to Thailand in 1989 turned into a year traveling throughout Southeast Asia while writing for a business magazine based in Bangkok. In 1990 Skip Hill relocated to the Netherlands, immersing himself in the culture and learning the Dutch language. His frequent visits the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam as well as the Boijman Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, sparked Hill’s interest in creating art inspired by aesthetic concerns over the strictly commercial art he produced during his advertising career. It was during this time abroad that he traveled through Germany, Czechoslovakia and Morocco. After returning to Oklahoma in 1993, Skip Hill studied formally at The University of Oklahoma with conceptual artist Hachivi Edgar Heap of Birds, and influential abstract painter George Bogart...
