Joseph
Life Is A Show

About the Item

Joseph is a conceptual mixed-media artist born in Paris in 1961. Trained in architecture at EDPI and graphic arts at Sornas, Joseph eventually found his true passion at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts studying painting and design. He developed his formal training into a striking combination of metalwork and mixed media abstraction. In his latest series of creations, Joseph's pieces directly confront the viewer with mirrored steel and cut-out words, an abstract landscape of concrete and color beneath the surface. The engaging nature of the work, using text rather than images, propels his audience into dialogue with the artist. The phrases often challenge social expectations, accepted ideas of normalcy, and sharp reminders of our most human vulnerabilities.
