About the Item
Thick-painted accents in Canadian artist Kimberly Blackstock’s artworks create compelling depth and dimensionality. Over the last 8 years, Blackstock has become known for her dedication to exploring and pushing the boundaries of paint application. Her palette is uplifting and energetic, and her work is full of bigger-than-life gestural brushstrokes, vibrant pools of paint, and parallel lines of saturated color.
This unique abstract painting is 18 inches square. The sides are painted and it does not require framing. It is wired and ready to hang. This painting is signed on the side & back. Born in Vancouver B.C., Blackstock grew up in a stable but ever-changing environment, living in 10 different neighborhoods by age 12. She embraced the frequent changes in her surroundings and the array of new personalities and characters that passed through her life. “I truly think my childhood routine of moving has made me the adventure-seeking artist I am today, surely it has contributed to the desire to continually see things in a different light.”
Blackstock has been exhibited across Canada and has been published as a representative of Western Canadian art internationally. Her unique uses of contrasting textures have drawn interest and collectors worldwide.
