Linda K Schinkel and Theodore M Schinkel
Linda's friends and family relate how she was always painting, drawing and doodling. Yet it wasn't until she was 50 that Linda focused on her visual art practice as her life's mission. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the Literature, Science & Arts College at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor MI and earned her JD in 1979. She began collaborating with her eldest son Teddy in 2010 and her practice has evolved. Linda's art studies include at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor MI, the Sorbonne University of Paris, Paris France, National Geographic in Sienna Italy, National Geographic Around the World Photography Intensive, and an Ox-Bow School of Art Residency, Saugatuck MI. Linda had an Artist Residency at Cranbrook - a leading center of art, education, and science - teaching and speaking, summer of 2023. Linda's works sparkle with synergy and sublime metaphysical connections. Gallery representation since 2004, she was published in “Style” and “Ambassador” magazines prior to being published with Teddy as an artist duo in multiple media publications including "The Wall Street Journal," "USA Today", and "World Wide Art Books". Linda attributes her unique works and career path from utilizing both sides of her brain. She followed her parents' use of right and left brain hemispheres. Linda received the 49th Distinguished Women’s Award from Northwood University, Midland MI, in recognition of her artwork. Teddy communicated through art from as early as age three. At age ten he won a short story competition about traveling back in time meeting Van Gogh in Arles, France. Teddy's life's purpose is an art practice focusing on sublime works assisting viewers in reaching hidden potential. Teddy's works - not entirely abstract, not entirely representative - are a hybrid reflecting opportunity and a growth mindset built on sublime messaging. Teddy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and Economics from Denison University, Granville OH. Additional art studies include at FAMU, Charles University Prague Czech Republic, College for Creative Studies, Detroit MI and Ox-Bow School of Art Residency, Saugatuck MI. Teddy had an artist residency at Cranbrook, a leading center for art science, and education, teaching and speaking, summer of 2023. He worked in the film industry in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and Detroit before committing to his visual practice. In 2010 Teddy envisioned creating collaboratively with his mother, Linda. Collaboratively creating with all ages, Teddy has taught and lectured at multiple schools. A work made while teaching currently hangs in the Detroit Mayor's office. Additional collaborative works are at Cranbrook, Bloomfield Hills, MI and Detroit Country Day School, Beverly Hills, MI and in private and business collections. Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781-1841), the most prominent late 18th to mid 19th century Prussian artist is a familial ancestor. Teddy at age six, with his family and a small group of Karl's relatives, attended the first USA Exhibition of Karl's work at the Chicago Institute of Art, Chicago IL. The Exhibition greatly influenced the artists' work and is the namesake of their practice and gallery.

- DandelionBy Naomi SavageLocated in Concord, MANAOMI SAVAGE (1927-2005) Dandelion, c.1960 Photo-engraving with painted additions on copper 4 3/8 x 3 ½ inches (plate) Inscribed on the reverse: Naomi Savage / (BK) / 1960? Naomi Savage was born in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1927. From a very early age, Naomi was interested in the arts. Her mother encouraged her to pursue music, and as the niece of famous Dada and Surrealist painter, sculptor, and photographer, Man Ray, she was able to pursue her interests with much support from her family. During high school, Naomi attended a class taught by Bernice Abbott, Man Ray's assistant in the 1920’s, at the New School for Social Research. She later attended Bennington College, where she studied music and the arts. Shortly after college, she traveled to California to study and apprentice with her uncle, Man Ray. Ray was a great inspiration to the young Naomi; he encouraged her to let her imagination create her art. Savage said later in her life that her strongest inheritance enriching her artistic career came from her uncle, Man Ray. "I never forgot his insightfulness," she said. "With him you could try anything - there was nothing you were told not to do, except spill the chemicals. With Man Ray, you were free to do what your imagination conjured and that kind of encouragement was wonderful". In 1950, Naomi married painter, sculptor, and architect, David Savage. Shortly after, the couple moved to Lambertville, New Jersey, residing there for three years before moving to Princeton, New Jersey. She had her first exhibition in 1952 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and exhibited there again in 1960, 1966, and 1968. Her work can now be seen in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the International Center of Photography in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Fogg Museum at Harvard University, and the Noyes Museum in Oceanville, New Jersey. Savage pioneered the use of photographic engravings for which she is best known. With a photographic engraving, the actual metal photographic plate itself is the art. It is described as a kind of topographic photograph with forms in three dimensions and with a variety of metallic surfaces and tones. Some of her most famous photographic engravings involve a series of portraits of her sister, which she manipulated in countless ways over many years. But her most famous photographic engraving (perhaps her most famous work of all) is a fifty-foot long mural she did on the side of the Lyndon B. Johnson Library and Museum in Austin, Texas. Her approach to photography represents an involvement with process as medium, and an interest in art as image manipulation, a pursuit shared by contemporaries like Robert Heinecken, Betty Hahn, and Bea Nettles...Category

Excerpt from the PACE Gallery Press materials: It is clear that Moix, a true Catalonian, has a rightful claim to the lineage that spawned the extraordinary draughtmanship of his Spanish predecessors- Goya and Picasso. “Part of the pleasure of this project on Quixote by Santi Moix is that it boldly closes the gap between writing and art, between the markmaking of the pen, the stylo, the etching tool, between the fiction of two absolutely distinct means of expression, and proposes instead a true imaginative domain in which unity is everything” – Adrian Dannati, 2008 Measurements: Frame: 22 x 27 x 1.5 inches Print: 19.5 x 25 inches Exhibition History: "Santi Moix: Don Quixote" at PACE prints from September 11 to October 4, 2008. Published by Pace Prints, in collaboration with the Institut Ramon LLull Provenance: PACE Editions, New York, NY This work is elegantly floated and framed in a hand made museum quality wood frame, finished with genuine gold leaf, under UV plexiglass.
