About the Item
Comfy cozy is conjured by this wondrous work, but what is it? A flower, an abstraction or something unique in nature? It's a delightful caterpillar curled up into a ball resting on the abstracted mossy base of an ancient oak tree.
This work, hovering between abstraction and representation, becomes interactive and alive through the artists' made by hand one of a kind work. Created with their original artist process, known as Metalagram®, this work was developed at the intersection of art + science. The artists use old world techniques + 21st century technology to create sculpturally in layers. A dimensional interactive experience is rendered with the work appearing differently from 180 degree vantage points. At varying angles of incidence lighting impacts the work as photons dance across the hand cut layered aluminum.
