DESCRIPTION: Unexpected Flow has to do with the ability to overcome difficulties and continue endlessly into growing, developing, expanding... Created at the beginning of the year, it carries optimism , movement, and dynamic energy. Multi and vibrant colored artwork, with visible brush strokes, blending abruptly in some areas and in harmony in others. Highly textured in some areas and soft, light textured in others. Unexpected Flow is an interesting uplift to live with! MATERIALS: It is painted with high quality acrylic paint on hand stretched Italian canvas (280gr. quality). A thin layer of varnish protects the artwork against UV light and dust. SIGNATURE: It is signed in front and back and accompanied with certificate of authenticity. READY TO HANG: It is unframed, but ready to hang for it is painted on the edges and it is wired. ---------------------------------- ABOUT MY ART: "Nature, light and colors inspire me the most. I follow the potentials of the materials, in a free, gestural process, which reminds of free associations in psychotherapy and meditation. I see one point and the whole, almost at the same time, again and again. I release and I hold, add and erase, again and again. I let my instinct and emotion flow, observing carefully how the elements of art communicate with each other; I form a composition that satisfies my aesthetic, emotional, and spiritual pursuit. What seems coincidence at the beginning is a product of systematic observation of every little detail and stroke study. I usually use acrylic combined with pigments. Maria Bacha
Greek painter Maria Bacha paints colorful, nebulous, abstract compositions inspired by nature and light. Working in an organic, gestural style, she allows the materials to guide her as the paintings develop. She employs a unique method of blending acrylic paint, pigments and resin to create a dynamic interplay between the layers. Transparent color fields pull the eye into the illusionary space and then seem to give way to ghostly, textured forms. Like celestial clouds or pools in the primordial soup, her compositions appear to always be in the process of becoming. Bacha has exhibited extensively in Greece, as well as in Europe and in the United States, and her work is in multiple public and private collections. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from the University of La Verne, California. She lives and works in Marousi, Athens.
