Kinnee has taught at Colorado College, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center. Sandy Kinnee was awarded a Pollack-Krasner Foundation grant. His work bears some surface similarities to Sam Francis and Alan Shields works. This has the feel of the Pattern and Decoration art movement.
