Sumit Mehndiratta
Sumit Mehndiratta is an Indian artist born in 1986 who lives and works in New Delhi, India. He pursued a Master of Science in international fashion marketing from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
Sumit enjoys making artworks in different media that please the mind and soul of the individual. The artist’s works aren't restricted to one style or medium. His works range from those created in generic media such as canvas and paper to experimental media like digital art, mixed media and wall sculptures.
Sumit claims to have been an experimental artist since childhood. Be it drawing, sketching, painting or photography, he always liked to do something no one has ever thought of by adding his signature element to the task. To achieve this, Sumit creates his own painting tools to go with the techniques he thinks of. He also believes in impulsive acts of making art and its surprising results. Additionally, Sumit focuses on giving back to nature from his earnings as an artist.
With respect to collecting Sumit Mehndiratta's artworks, buyers help him contribute 10% of his earnings to an animal welfare organization based in India called Animal Aid Unlimited that treats, shelters and supports the adoption of injured animals from the city.

- How Birds See II: contemporary abstract painting w/ bird in white green & purpleBy Deirdre MurphyLocated in Bryn Mawr, PA"How Birds See II" is a musing on birds ability to see a greater variety of colors than humans. Murphy imagines that they see a patterned spectrum of colors and chroma that pops like flowers. "As an artist, my paintings, prints, sculpture and public art are made with the attentiveness of a scientist, observing our natural world beyond the visible surface. My interest lies in the interconnected qualities of art and science, specifically the micro / macro patterns that reveal our connectedness; be it migratory avian flight patterns shared commonality with immigration routes, or how light pollution maps mirror viral molecular patterns, or aerial views of watershed systems that reveal vascular patterns. Through the act of creating, I am aware of being both infinitesimally minute and integrally part of a larger whole. It is this dichotomy and the vastness of these images that provides perspective to our humanity." - Deirdre Murphy...Category
