About the Item

Continuance Ring 3 is a one-of-a kind wearable art piece by Alexandra Forsythe and part of the Instantiating Time Collection. A body of work reflecting objects that both embody and symbolize time. Instantiate means to represent or manifest an abstract concept. In this series of objects, Forsythe uses her own mental constructs and create an instance, a physical materialization of something intangible. Alexandra was introduced to silversmithing by local jeweler at the young age of 14. At the age of 16 she attended the intensive jewelry program at the highly respected Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, CA. She is one of the youngest students ever to attend the program.

Chicago's most well known work is The Dinner Party, which is permanently installed in the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum.
