Fernando Garcia
Storm on the Farm, Original Painting

2023

About the Item

Artist Comments
Artist Fernando Garcia paints a farm and a silo on a vast midwestern landscape. He offers the viewer a serene environment that conveys peace and tranquility. The horizon slowly dims, suggesting a storm brewing in the clouds. Fernando uses a mixed technique with acrylic and gesso for a dynamic finish.

About the Artist
Artist Fernando Garcia depicts dramatic abstract scenes where he deconstructs and pares down elements to their simplest form. "I love the challenge of experimenting with new materials and ideas, bringing feeling, harmony, and movement," shares Fernando. Coming from a family of musicians while partially deaf, painting became the expression of his innate musical spirit. His penchant for art led him to attend San Alejandro School of Fine Arts to further master his craft. His concepts revolve around his immediate environment, creating a perfect vision of nature in all its expressions. The methodically flat picture planes give the sense that the compositions do not exist singly but are symphonies of evolution that change and unfold over time. He works at his colorful home studio on a hill, where he can see the sunrise every morning. When he's not painting, he enjoys sungazing, yoga, and running around the park near his residence. Fernando has participated in various art festivals locally and has exhibited his work in France, Cuba, Spain, and the United States.

  • Pink Trees, Original Painting
    By Janet Dyer
    Located in San Francisco, CA

    Artist Comments
Artist Janet Dyer presents a panoramic scene flourishing with pink blossoming trees. "I love painting trees in spring," shares Janet. She captures the beauty of a grove nearby a parking lot. The expressive paint application builds up the atmosphere of the wind rustling through the leaves.

    About the Artist
Janet Dyer doesn’t like to spend too much time talking about her art, as she’d rather be creating it. She doesn’t have an artist statement, the traditional statement of purpose crafted by visual artists to explain their method. On becoming an artist, Janet simply states, “I picked up some crayons and pencils and brushes and kept using them.” She believes the process of creating art is equal in importance to the final product. The artist enjoys relinquishing control of her paintings to find delightful surprises in her so-called “mistakes.” Janet's expressively gestural yet bucolic landscapes are a testament to the success of her method.
