This Autograph is an Apology Letter Signed by Georges Goyan to the Countess Pecci-Blunt. Not dated. Paris, 20/II. Around 1920s-30s. On light blue-colored and laid paper. In French. One page, single-sided. Excellent condition, including original envelope. Perfectly readable. Signed G. Goyan The Armenian art histrian and artist writes to the Countess and Patron of art in occasion of a formal invitation at the Pecci-Blunt French residence. He has to decline this invitation with the ending promise to see her agian! George Goyan (born Gevorg OvsepovichTer Nikogosyan, Tiflis, November 10, 1901 - date of death unknown) was a Doctor of Theater Studies and Art History (1949), and a Meritorious Artist Armenian SSR (1961). In 1944 he took part in Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, then taught there until 1949. He is the author of several works concerning the history of theater, the most significant of which are those on the history of Russian theatre in the seventeenth century, such as "2000 years of Armenian Theatre "(1952). Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971) Best-known as "Mimì" Pecci-Blunt , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters. In 1919 she married Cecil Blumenthal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York, heir to an important collection of nineteenth-century French painting. His Parisian and Roman salons was frequented by artists and intellectuals of the caliber of Salvador Dalì, Paul Valery, Poulenc, Paul Claudel, and Aldo Palazzeschi!
