Circular Wooden Box -- Breton Figure

Circa 20th Century

About the Item

This honey colored wooden box depicts a breton figure in traditional clothing. Brittany is the northwesternmost region of France, heavily influenced by Celtic culture and was a part of the Roman Empire. This ovular spherical box is meticulously etched and painted. Etched at the bottom is "Pleneuf," a commune in Brittany, along with a makers mark. In fabulous condition, this historical box would be a joy to own.
