Sensational abstract oil painting by a French female artist named Beatrice Werlie.
The cubist style painting shows a medley of pale yellow/golden coloured flecks, focusing on one particular figure who appears to be basking in the sunshine wearing a head scarf.
The artist has used a cubist style technique of thick, block like brush strokes.
Cubism is an early-20th-century avant-garde art movement that revolutionised European painting and sculpture, and inspired related movements in music, literature and architecture. Cubism has been considered the most influential art movement of the 20th century.
The work has excellent provenance having come from a large collection of the artists work in Normandy, France. The artist exhibits with the Galerie Artitude, Paris.
