Seen from afar, these diptychs tease our curiosity as abstract color blocks; but when we approach, the jewel-toned color reveals a complex interplay of dense layers of oil pastel built to a luxuriously textured surface. The artist regards these diptychs as literal representations of the fruits and vegetables she portrays, the left side embodies the skin, while the right side captures the flesh of her sensuous hand-picked produce.
