Janet Hamilton
Karma, Abstract Oil Painting

2021

About the Item

Artist Comments
Focusing on her favorite new color, cobalt teal, artist Janet Hamilton expands her vision into a dynamic abstract. Janet created the piece using her signature paint application technique with palette knives. The result is a textured non-traditional seascape. "This color reminds me of the beauty of the sea and the calming and peaceful feeling it brings," says Janet.

About the Artist
Janet Hamilton is an abstract expressionist who creates heavily-textured and multi-layered paintings. She is an Illinois-based artist whose studio space is a converted library complete with stained glass windows, a balcony and fireplace. Throughout her portfolio, she demonstrates a mastery over color choice; each palette creates a specific emotion and mood. She builds the texture of her painting with many layers to reflect the emotional depth of her passion-filled process.

  • Blue Chip Coffee, Abstract Oil Painting
    By Rachel Srinivasan
    Located in San Francisco, CA

    Artist Comments
Part of artist Rachel Srinivasan's signature cubist coffee series. For these pieces, she studies her extensive collection of cafetieres that she keeps in her studio. The works are both about celebrating her love of coffee, and depicting light, pattern, and repetition as though it were set to music.

    About the Artist
For Rachel Srinivasan, an idea is worth putting on a canvas only if it still feels exciting after a few days. Rachel enjoys mulling the idea over in her mind for some time before creating an artwork. She hopes viewers will engage with her work and wonder about the subject matter, shapes and colors. "My current work is all about creating a connection between the person on the canvas with the viewer," she explains. She prefers large paintings and sometimes even makes her own canvases. She currently lives in Arizona and enjoys baking rhubarb pies, reading, running and going to art museums.
