Unique ceramic panel painting by renowned ceramist, Jared FitzGerald. "Blossoms & Scriptures" is an abstracted landscape superimposed with floating symbols. The writing-system characters reference the difference between Eastern and Western perspectives on the importance of the written word. FitzGerald emphasizes the form of the character itself in the Eastern tradition of giving great attention and respect to the form of the character itself. Within the negative space of the symbols are more calligraphy type characters, which is a play on hidden/ deeper meanings. The reeds, tall grasses and flowers surrounding the symbols and characters make for a serene and tranquil setting for communication to take form. Modernizing the Eastern ceramic panel painting medium with more contemporary aesthetics and gestural (Western) brushstrokes is a central aim of the artist. The shine of the porcelain makes this a perfect piece to lighten any interior. The ceramic will never fade and does not require glass or plexi, thus it is ideal for taking direct sunlight. Beautifully selected gloss white frame perfectly accompanies this impressive painting and gels with most any interior.
