Psychedelic Abstract Interior with Mirror in Oil on Paper
Moody abstract interior by Jennie T. Rafton (American, b. 1925). An interior of a house in shown with a large round mirror. In the mirror's reflection, there are cutouts of two hand drawn figures facing each other. In the rest of the composition, there are various architectural forms, somewhat abstracted and jumbled - windows and doorframes are overlapping each other. A silhouette of another figure can be seen in one of these forms. The colors of this piece are saturated and bold, adding to the surreal feeling.
Signed "JT Rafton" in the lower right corner, and acquired with a collection of the artist's work.
Signed and dated "Jennie T Rafton 1991" on verso.
Presented in a new off-white mat.

Jennie T. Rafton (American, b. 1925) is a well-known California artist, primarily for her abstract compositions. She and her husband Michael were ardent supporters of the arts, especially the Oakland Symphony Guild.
