Abstract Ideas are the beginning to create abstract art, which is a fascinating process that allows me to explore my creativity and imagination. An abstract painting is not created in a vacuum. The artist creates them from things they have once seen or heard about. An abstract composition comes from abstract ideas and is a representation of those impressions. Blue shapes can be associated with the sky or with sunbeams on water. Or with anything, as abstract ideas suggest. It can recall moments of relaxation on holiday or remind us that rest is necessary for a harmonious life.
Have you ever looked at an oil painting with abstract ideas or sculpture and wondered what it means? You are not alone. Abstract art can be both fascinating and puzzling and many of us scratch our heads in confusion.

Jolanta Johnsson
Jolanta Johnsson is a Polish painter, who was born in 1955. She studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the years 1984–89, in the graphic studios of professor Halina Chrostowska and professor Rafal Strent and the painting studio of professor Jerzy Tchorzewski. She gained a Ph.D. in visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2012. Currently, she runs a graphic arts and design workshop at the European Faculty of Arts at the Vistula Academy of Finance and Business. Her works have been exhibited at numerous exhibitions, including in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Greece.
