About the Item
'When I paint my goal is to take all my impressions, feelings and experiences and create an artwork that will emanate a pure, positive vibrant energy. I want my paintings to be larger than life, all-consuming and have the ability to gently transport you to a place of meditative calm'
This is 'From the Heart' a vibrant uplifting abstract, exuding positive energy to refresh and uplift any room.
Painted in soft calm mint, pink, lavender and white. Heavily layered with lots of thick descriptive textures and details. This work comes ready to hang, framed in Australia by my local framer. Four paintings make us this collection. A wonderful edition to a home, hang one or more side by side on a hallway wall, above a bedside table, or make a statement with a salon hang on the main living room wall.

Kathleen Rhee
Kathleen Rhee Australian Contemporary Artist
Born in Brisbane, Australia With a passion for working on large-scale abstract paintings. Kathleen has a deep connection to mother nature and can only explain her practice as a need to paint everyday. Rhee’s personal style has an atmospheric, powerful, mesmerising touch that she achieves by using subtle colour, detailed textures and depth. “I work in acrylic, experimenting on different surfaces of canvas. I need to have certain elements and details in my work, sometimes this more, sometimes less depending on my mood. I like these elements to have balance, contrast and opposition. I start with colour combinations, and look for smooth seamlessness, thick textures, spatter, colour merging and always the energy and feeling of the work is what is most important to me. I am a very quiet, sensitive person, so that is what I reflect in my work, along with happiness and joy that all human deserve. I grew up a very simple life on the Australian coastal hinterland, only ever wanting to draw and paint, always day dreaming for sure. I am not sure why but I defiantly have alway had this ingrain obsession with large scale abstract art. Its only in the last few years my studio could accomodate painting large works. I want my paintings to be larger than life, all consuming, give off vibrant energy psychically and also have the ability to take you away mentally. Kathleen's studies in Australia include art history, drawing and painting at Brisbane Institute of Art and Portrait & Figure Painting at ANU Art School Canberra. She studied at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City where she lived for four years before moving home to Australia where she now resides with her husband and children.

- Springtime ResurrectionBy Ronnie LandfieldLocated in Austin, TXAcrylic on canvas. Signed, titled, and dated on verso. 86 x 74 in. 87.25 x 75.25 in. (framed) Please note: Our framing studio could not accommodate the scale of this work, so it is being sold as-acquired. The canvas is housed in an original “studio strip” frame installed by the artist. Please see condition notes below for additional details and an assessment of condition. Provenance Steve Chase Design, Palm Springs, CA Ronnie Landfield was born in the Bronx, NY on January 9, 1947 - the same day as his older brother. As a teenager, he was encouraged to pursue a career as an artist, subsequently creating his first real paintings around the age of 14. He was particularly influenced by a Life magazine article from 1961 on the Abstract Expressionists, most notably: Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Adolph Gottlieb, Hans Hofmann, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Robert Motherwell and Franz Kline. After stints at the Art Students League, the Kansas City Art Institute, the San Francisco Art Institute, and the University of California at Berkeley, Landfield’s professional career as a painter began in New York in 1965. The following year, after completing a major series of hard-edge border paintings, success as a painter began to materialize. The famous architect and collector Philip Johnson and the collector Robert Scull each acquired large paintings works, as did the Sheldon Memorial Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1967, Landfield was invited to participate in the Whitney Annual at the end of the year. His work attracted considerable attention, and he was invited to participate in important group exhibitions at the Bykert, Bianchini, and Park Place Galleries in New York. Landfield joined the David Whitney...Category
