About the Item
Oil and Gold Leaf on Canvas
“In a simple way the circle shows us the complete story of creation. In the beginning there was nothing, and then there became consciousness. The consciousness is symbolized through the creation of the circumference within nothingness. We, as a part of this oneness, (consciousness) search in many different ways to find the center of this circle again. We move towards the center in concentrated circles until we bring our own reality to a point, this circulation forms a circle. Enlightenment, is the bringing together of God (the point), and the cosmic consciousness (the circle).”

- Deborah Bigeleisen - Fascinatin' Rhythm, Painting 2019By Deborah BigeleisenLocated in Greenwich, CTMost of Deborah’s paintings concentrate on a single bloom, large in size, so stunning that they command the view of the audience. With great affection she takes care to capture every detail of their texture and shape. Through the sophistication of her palette, she captures all of the fragility and beauty of her subject. The painterly appearance of her works belies the fact that their buttery-looking surfaces are actually created by layers of opaque paint and transparent washes. She pants in oils because she loves their organic purity, their richness, and the sensual physical qualities of the medium. Focusing on beauty and aesthetics, she uses the glazing techniques developed by the Dutch Master Artists...Category
