About the Item
Artist Comments
Exploring the concept of deconstruction and movement, this abstract painting portrays a relationship between lines, colors, and strokes. The combination and placement of greens and ochres draw inspiration from the Roman alphabet. Despite its initial appearance of disconnection, the composition exudes a cohesive and balanced effect.
About the Artist
Artist Marie-Eve Champagne depicts representational and abstract subjects through organic forms with clean planes, thick outlines, and blocks of color. Her compositions, guided by movement and carefully selected palettes, convey a profound sense of unity, articulating concepts inspired by her surroundings. Trained in Fine Arts and Museum Studies, she values the importance and complexity of the viewer's reception to her practice. "Whether I'm painting a rock, a plant, or a building façade, I wish for people to be surprised, to feel the urge to look again and reflect on what they observe," says Marie-Eve. She paints in a charming yet cluttered studio in her home in San Diego County, with good music in the background and a big cup of coffee by her side. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she expertly manages the daily chaos and joys of being a mother of three.
