Large modern expressive abstract painting has ocean colors in seagrass blue, turquoise blue, sand, cream, gray, and white.
Titled: Changing Tides
My painting is inspired by my connection to the sea and nature dominates my work. This free flowing, watery and peaceful painting is transportive. The initial marks on the canvas are gestural, connecting action with emotion.
All subsequent marks, are an intuitive response. The composition evolves as I work, building layers over the textured surface and using color to create a sense of depth. It is enhanced with bold marks and lines in graphite, pencil, charcoal and archival inks.
This painting is signed on the front and back and is coated with an archival UV semi-gloss varnish for protection and light luster.
Michele Zuzalek is a contemporary, abstract and landscape painter living and working in Santa Barbara, California and Washington D.C. She is a graduate of Art Center College of Design and has a BFA degree.
Her work is widely collected both nationally and internationally.
