About the Item
Nelio Sonego was born in Switzerland, in Sion, in 1955. He attended and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice with Emilio Vedova, from whom he assimilated the gestural and vitalistic momentum of the sign, transposed in a minimalist and abstract key, since the seventies when he created Strutturali, graphic compositions defined by pencil lines drawn with the team that reproduce elements taken from architectural projects (1978-80). Over the following decade, the essential, almost archetypal forms of Vertical Rectangles are combined with this type of work. "Superb walker and stupendous lazy, Venetian born in Switzerland and southern for the love of Rome, since the early eighties, he began to dream of the truth and the lie of art and that was the recurring dream of the linear journey fragmented in different moments and places” (A.
