About the Item
Artist Comments
Fluid blue, turquoise, and black waves sweep underneath sharp geometric shapes in this modern abstract. Leading towards a collective direction, thin delicate lines unanimously flow with all of the elements of the composition. "Abstract Landscape 79 is all about motion and the contrast between an organic background wave and a series of floating geometric shards of color," explains artist Paul Kirley.
About the Artist
Born in Massachusetts into a family of architects, designers and artists, Paul Kirley began drawing and painting by age two. From the beginning, he was influenced by his family’s connection to landscapes, buildings and a sense of place. In the fall of 1987 he moved to California to attend the Art Center College of Design. Inspired by architecture and a geometric translation of the natural landscape, he began to develop a signature style of work.
