Peter Brimelow RIBA
Arriving at Ronnie Scotts Fifth St - London realism urban landscape oil painting

2020

About the Item

The original painting by Peter Brimelow is painted on deep edge stretched canvas. The dark background and contrasting neon colours used make create a bright scene. Which evokes a feeling of warmth. The Artwork is signed framed and ready to be displayed. Peter Brimelow BA(Hons) B.Arch(Hons) RIBA Peter graduated from Liverpool University School of Architecture with the Holford Award for the “highest all round achievement” in 1984. He qualified as an architect and was admitted as a Chartered Member to The Royal Institute of British Architects in 1985. In his early career Peter worked for The British Museum where he was responsible for the design of permanent and temporary exhibitions. He also trained and worked as a television set designer with the BBC. Peter returned to mainstream architecture in the 1990s, working on major town centre redevelopments in the UK and Europe, and in 1999 founded the award winning Brimelow McSweeney Architects studio in Covent Garden, winning the Retail and Leisure International Award for Retail and Leisure Designer of the Year in 2003. The practice thrived and won a number of further awards and commendations. Peter has stepped back from the architecture practice, acting only as an occasional consultant on design, and now works full time as an artist in his Battersea studio, exhibiting paintings in London galleries. Peter’s paintings capture his observations of a city in continuous change. His experienced architect’s eye and his considered draftsmanship, show an understanding of urban space and context, creating architecturally accurate perspectives of contemporary London. His recent paintings explore change through the interplay between the transience of people and vehicles moving through the city and the static fabric of the architectural cityscape.

  • The Way Home To You, Forest Artworks, Green Contemporary Landscape Panting
    By Adele Riley
    Located in Deddington, GB
Adele Riley is a British contemporary land and seascape artist working primarily in acrylic and acrylic inks. Her artistic process usually begins with a loose idea of what she wants to create. She strives to capture the emotional content of the subject, letting the inks create a type of chaos by doing what they naturally want to do. ‘This is an exciting part of the process,’ says Adele, ‘As it always reveals something magical, letting me know what I should do or how I should react next.’ Adele is fascinated by light and colour, believing people connect to colour just as much as to the subject matter. People are drawn to different energies in different colours, and she loves to play with this theory in her work. She often starts her paintings ‘plein air’, sometimes in local forests or on the beaches of Cornwall and Devon, but her passion is to paint intuitively, recalling the light, atmosphere, sounds and feel of a scene. ‘My aim is to capture the essence of a place rather than produce a literal interpretation. I want to create a personal and emotional narrative between my work and the viewer.’ ‘With light there is always colour. I constantly chase light...
