This 9 box installation by Rene Rietmeyer is bright yellow, deep layered painted oil on wood, that can be installed in any configuration or design. This Dutch artist created metaphysical portraits of artist, or landscapes of places he has visited. These portraits and landscapes represent the artist's emotional response to the person or place. This installation is portraying a Dutch artist, Clemens Briels, who is part of the COBRA group and paints in a very bold, colorful way. His personality is also bright and vivid, as these boxes are. This very contemporary, very versatile, and very artful installation can be a fun yet sophisticated addition to any contemporary setting.
