2022

About the Item

Tulips by Rosie Shorrock [2022] Bright red and orange tulips make sharp accents in the garden in late April. Additional information: Original Acrylic on panel Image Size: H:50 cm x W:60 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:50 cm x W:60 cm x D:3cm Sold Unframed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look Rosie Shorrock, painter. Rosie’s work is influenced by the sights, sounds and memories of the landscape, in particular the Pewsey Vale in Wiltshire. She is also influenced by strange and surprising juxtapositions of colour and form which occur in day-to-day life. How each colour reacts when laid next to, or over other colours, offers a constant path of discovery. Exploring and experimenting with marks, scale and proportion, Rosie builds up a layered surface using acrylic paints. Each painting arrives at a different conclusion, despite the starting points often being similar. She studied art and history of art and has followed a career in teaching alongside her work as an artist. She lives and work in Marlborough.
