Heading south from Rome you turn off of the Amalfi Coast and continue towards the famed turquoise waters of Capri. That it where you first encounter the strikingly beautiful, famed rock formations: Stella, Mezzo and Fuori jutting out of the Bay of Naples. The Faraglioni Rocks are a vision that will always remain with you, Trendy artist Sonia Grineva has captured the Faraglioni Rocks of Capri in her internationally collected abstract expressionist style paired with impressionist impasto layering of paint to draw attention to the natural movement of the sea and the wind coupled with the bright jewel tones of the tropics to accentuate the organic nature of the subject matter. Originally from Moscow where Grineva was educated at their leading art school, the Stroganov Institute, she earned both a bachelors degree and masters of fine art. Her subsequent studies at the National Academy of Design in NYC earned her extensive accolades including a scholarship to continue her studies in Florence, Italy, at the British Institute. Grineva's work has been widely shown from the Vatican to Pfizer to Time Warner to the Harvard and Yale Clubs to the White House as well as countless private art collections. In addition to her multiple hardcovered books, Grineva was also featured in "Capri" magazine!
