About the Item

SQUARE UP Series: "I love working in squares because they naturally evoke a sense of balance. Whatever tension is created in the image itself, a square resolves with its ‘even’ sides. A decade ago if you handed me only two tubes of paint – black and white, I would have been extremely frustrated and thought you were very mean. Now black and white sends me over the moon. In this series, the journey of black and white is giving my work more depth than I’ve ever creatively experienced before. There are so many grays." Susan Woldman received her BA Degree from Sarah Lawrence College. After studying sculpture in Lacoste, France through the Cleveland Institute of Art she went on to get her MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. "I paint on wood because I’m a sculptor at heart and scratching marks on the surface gives me the feeling that I’m building something." Acrylic Paint on Birchwood

  • ABSTRACT Artwork by Contemporary Artist Giorgio Petracci 2023
    Located in BARCELONA, ES
If painting still respects a logic that legitimizes its practice and existence in our hyper-saturated civilization of the image, it is its ability to break the representation, to open a crack on the slippery LCD surface behind which reality takes shape and action, a crack that even if it was imperceptible, has permanent and incisive effects, destined as it is to open more and more. And it’s just around the idea of the crack that Giorgio Petracci...
