Cool Blues is a limited edition hand coloured collagraph print by Vicky Oldfield. The print is taken from a plate which has been collaged with a variety of textured materials. The plates are then sealed and then inked up and printed in intaglio on damp paper using an etching press. The embossed textural quality of the print is unique to this method. Collage material is added as the print goes through the press. Due to the process the editions are variable, which means each print is completely unique. Printed on Somerset paper 300gms.
Vicky Oldfield the artist is renowned for her distinctive pictures; the subjects are the story of her fascination with life, whether a still life on a rainy day or a collection of found objects from a walk with her dog, through the British countryside. Vicky Oldfield’s works are produced by a variety of materials: wire, etching, oil sticks, tissue paper and coloured card. A collage is made up with these materials and then placed in a metal press. A print is taken of the design and then reworked with colour on top. Her flower designs are bold and striking there is nothing wilting about these compositions what so ever Vicky Oldfield has exhibited twice in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, selling her entire editions on preview night, she is regularly selected for the major London competitions and shows in many galleries across the UK including the Affordable art fair in Battersea. Commissions are always welcome; Vicky Oldfield derives great satisfaction from researching and incorporating design elements with personal meaning into the artworks, telling a story.

Through Wychwood Art, he has carried out several large scale commissions for private clients. Jon comments: Painting is a journey. One starts at one place - the blank canvas, and hopefully ends at a resolution. Sometimes one gets lost. My aim in this journey is to create original, contemporary art that is grounded in place. Chance and opportunity are the travelling companions; but the art is to know when the journey is complete.
