Faber, Will (1901-1987).
Painter, draftsman and engraver, born in Saarbrucken (Germany) in 1901 and died in Barcelona in 1987.
He trained artistically in Munich and Berlin. Since 1932 he lived in Barcelona, where he developed his multifaceted artistic work. He worked mainly in editorials, for which he made covers and illustrations, in the magazine D 'Aci i d' allá, and as an industrial designer. He also produced stained glass, tapestries, engravings and collages.
In his first paintings, the influence of German expressionism appears, as well as the imprint of the avant-garde historical Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Franz Marc. Subsequently, geometric abstraction in the forties, Informalism since the early fifties, followed in his works; spatialism in the sixties.
He was awarded with the Gold medal of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts (1946), the Grand Prix Sant Jordi de la Diputación de Barcelona (1957) and the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize (1982).
