Herb Booth (1942 - 2014) Texas Artist Image Size: 29 x 41 Frame Size: 39 x 51 Medium: Watercolor "Waterfowl" Geese, ducks, more Herb Booth (1942 - 2014) Waterfowl, Hunting, Ducks, Houston HERB BOOTH In the Sporting Tradition Herb Booth wedded his artistic skills with decades of experience as a naturalist and hunter. Today he is one of the best known and most sought-after painters of sporting and wildlife scenes in Texas. Collectors of sporting art throughout the country also know and value his work. Booth's work has appeared in many of the nationally known sporting magazines. He has designed thirteen conservation stamp prints. He is best known for his watercolor paintings, but he also did original etchings. Author Michael McIntosh notes: "It is a peculiar fact of sporting art is that it cannot be successfully faked. A sporting scene, if it aspires to any degree of acceptance, must not only reflect genuine experience on the artist's part but must also evoke the memory and feeling of similar experience in the viewer." In Booth's art the sense of authenticity and depth of personal experience are instantly recognizable. Herb’s career spanned over 50 years, creating paintings and memories for many generations to enjoy now and in the future. Herb loved all of nature, was very generous in giving back through wildlife conservation efforts. Although he left us too soon, his paintings are family heirlooms everywhere and we hope you too can continue to build your collection of his artwork.
