Small Pile

2022

About the Item

"Small Pile" is part of a series of paintings on plexiglass that depicts multi colored masses. The maze like patterns are created using a router (woodworking tool) and carving a 1/16" groove into the plexiglass. The pattern is done freehand and happens in the moment unplanned. Paint is then used to highlight the pattern and then the background is painted black. The effect is complex, saturated, and precise. This piece is unusual from other's I've completed in the past because this one is painted on both sides of the plexiglass. This give a parallax effect that is very cool. The piece comes in a .5" x 1.5" black splined frame, and uses D rings for mounting. The piece is signed and dated on the back.
