This specific work has the following story:
Model dancer: Kristina Tavarovskaya
In this metaphysical scenario, the painter wanted to capture a true story of heartbreak or, better said, of love not understood.
The mannequin in love is plucking the daisy with the final wish that the last petal will change his luck. However, the protagonist does not show any interest in her suitor who some time before came to tattoo the name of her platonic love on her left arm.
She, with a mischievous look and the thought of the true love of her dreams, lets her imagination run wild towards her ideal world.
He recorded the date of birth of his beloved on the snail that discreetly observes the scene, prepared the surprise gift package and bought the engagement ring, but everything indicates that despite the preparations there will be no happy ending, nor will it come true this desired love story.
Throughout his evolution as a painter, Antonio Torres has dedicated himself to one recurring theme. Ballet dancers from all over the world showcase graceful poses and elegant costumes in every captivating painting. Fascinated with ballerinas’ patterns of movement and psychological dedication, Torres skillfully captures their mastery of performance by depicting their varied demeanors both on and off the stage.
While Torres portrays notable dancers from all over the world, his work is categorized into three distinct series and each inspired by a different ballerina. The Contrasts series provide striking distinctions between light and shade frequently placed in intimate settings. Blue Dream paintings convey the beauty of ballet through various expressionistic techniques, while the Blue Rainbow series incorporates surrealism to depict dreamlike performances. Through this diversity, Torres captures the multifaceted aspects of ballet and its dedicated performers.
This confidence in ballet’s continued importance derives from Torres’ established connections to principle dancers. Torres has exclusively dedicated himself to the theme of ballet for years, thus cultivating firmly secured relationships with career professionals who continue to provide access and inspiration. Torres reiterates an important aspect of capturing the details of a dancer’s anatomy and emotions requires strict dedication and attention to detail, and indeed the differing physiques, postures, poses, and sentiments of each dancer is readily discernible in every painting. Torres personalizes private moments, and this exclusive access to intimate views offstage are a hallmark of his work. Aware of the rare circumstances accessed to him via his friendships with numerous ballerinas, Torres graciously remarks, “I thank God for having the opportunity to be surrounded by so many talents behind the scenes.” Though visually divergent, Contrasts, Blue Dream, and Blue Rainbow unite in inviting viewers behind the scenes to share his intimate point of view.

Antonio Torres
Born in 1968 in Alicante, Spain.
My evolution as a painter has led me to achieve a recurring theme in my career: painting ballet. This is the subject in which I have dedicated myself these last few years. Direct contact with professional dancers from different countries has allowed me to observe and paint top performers in the industry, including dancers such as Yulia Tikka (Russia), Bianca Fota (Romania), Vesela Vassileva (Bulgaria), Sadaise Arencia (Cuba), Esteban Berlanga (Spain), Cristina Terentiev (Moldova), Bridgett Zehr (Canada), Victoria Ananyan (Monte Carlo), Nini Samadashvili (Georgia), Elena Evseeva (Russia), and Kristina Tabarovskaya (Russia). While my art depicts dancers from all over the world, it is worth mentioning three series with different models that particularly inspire me.
